Fun Drink to Get the Kids Ready for Halloween

Ingredients:

  • 2cups orange juice
  • 2cups milk
  • 2pints Orange sherbet
  • 4medium ripe bananas
  • 2cups whipped topping
  • 18minature chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

In four batches, process the orange juice, milk, sherbet and bananas in a blender until smooth. Pour into glasses. Cut a hole in the corner of a pastry or plastic bag; fill with whipped topping. Pipe a ghost shape on top of each beverage. Position chocolate chips for eyes.

Spooky Eye Monster Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 3 sticks softened butter
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Heavy cream or half and half
  • Food coloring
  • Candy Eyes
  • Devil's Food Mix

DIRECTIONS:

1. Make and bake the cupcakes according to box directions.
2. In a stand mixer whip the butter and powdered sugar together.
3. Add in the vanilla extract.
4. Add in your cream 1 tbsp. at a time until the buttercream is the consistency you like.
5. Separate the buttercream into 4 bowls and color each one a different color.
6. Pipe onto cupcakes.
7. Add candy eyes.
8. Serve and enjoy!

Slow Cooker Lime Chicken with Rice

Prep 10min Cook 8 hours

1 ¼ pound skinless, boneless chicken breast

1/3 cup lime juice

2 cups chicken broth

1 clove garlic, minced

½ teaspoon dried thyme leaves

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons butter

2 cups uncooked rice

Place the chicken breasts into a slow cooker; pour in the lime juice and chicken stock. Add the garlic, thyme, pepper, and butter.

Cover, and cook on Low until the chicken is very tender, 8 to 10. Stir in the rice during the last 15 minutes of cooking time.

Kiwi Strawberry Banana Smoothie

1 Banana

6 Strawberries

1 Kiwi

½ cup vanilla frozen yogurt

¾ cup pineapple & orange juice blend

Place the banana, strawberries, kiwi, vanilla frozen yogurt, and pineapple and orange juice blend in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Kale & Banana Smootie

1 Banana

2 cups of chopped kale

½ cup light unsweetened soy milk

1 tablespoon flax seeds

1 teaspoon maple syrup

Place the banana, kale, soy milk, flax seeds, and maple syrup into a blender. Cover, and puree until smooth. Serve over ice.
